It is my honour and privilege to invite you all to the 20th Annual conference of Hernia Society of India (HSI) (HSICON 2026), 08 – 10 October, 2026 at Taj Vivanta, Bhubaneshwar, India. HSI is the parent society of hernia surgeons in India and a vibrant platform for learning, sharing knowledge, friendship and growth.
Surgery of hernia continues to evolve rapidly and HSICON plays a vital role in keeping us aligned with the latest advancements while reinforcing the timeless principles of safe patient care.
HSICON 2026 will bring together distinguished international and National faculties, experienced surgeons and young minds, creating an ideal environment for knowledge exchange.

Udayagiri and Khandagiri caves, formerly called Kattaka Gumpha or Cuttack caves, are partly natural and partly artificial caves of archaeological, historical and religious importance 3 km south ofthe city of Bhubaneswar in Odisha, India. The caves are situated on two adjacent hills.
Nandankanan Zoological Park is a 437- hectare (1,080-acre) zoo and botanical garden located in Barang village, Odisha, ga India. It is 10 km to south of Cuttack and 10 km north of Bhubaneswar. Established in 1960, it was opened to the public in 1979 and became the first zoo in India.
Rajarani Temple is an l1th-century CE Hindu temple located in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha (Orissa previously), India. Believed to be devoted to Lord Shiva, the shrine is called Raja Rani because it is made of yellow and red sandstone and the two colors are locally called 'Raja Rani'
It is located close to the Bhubaneswar airport and was earlier called the forest park. Very popular with the locals particularly in the mornings and weekends. It is clean and well maintained. On entering you walk into enclosure of Palm trees with a modern art structure to your right. It has well laid out walkways.
Brahmeswara Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, erected at the end of the 9th century CE, is richly carved inside and out. This Hindu temple can be dated with fair
accuracy by the use of inscriptions that were originally on the temple.
Bhubaneswar is an ancient city in India's eastern state of Odisha, formerly Orissa. Many temples built from sandstone are dotted around Bindu Sagar Lake in the old city, including the l1th-century Hindu Lingaraja Temple. Outside Rajarani Temple are sculpted figures of the guardians of the 8 cardinal and ordinal directions. Jain antiques, weaponry and indigenous pattachitra paintings fill the Odisha State Museum.
Konark is a medium-sized town in the Puri district in the state of Odisha, India. It lies on the coast by the Bay of Bengal, 65 kilometres from the state capital Bhubaneswar. It is the site of the 13th-century Sun Temple, also known as the Black Pagoda, built in black granite during the reign of Narasinghadeva-1.
Cuttack is a city in the eastern Indian state of Odisha. It's on a peninsula flanked by the Mahanadi River to the north and the Kathajodi River to the south. The ruins of moated Barabati Fort, once home to the Eastern Ganga an dynasty, show the city's medieval significance. Within the fort's walls lies the Shahi Mosque, with its 3 white domes. Nearby, Maa Cuttack Chandi Temple is a pilgrimage site for Hindu devotees.
